Bluewhite Linux 13.0 LiveDVD Main features.
Bluewhite Linux Server. Once the LiveDVD is running you can configure and use different Server services like: Bind - Domain Name Server; Samba - share your partitions on a Windows LAN; CUPS - setup local and remote printers; AMP (Apache2/PHP/MySql) server; e-mail server (Sendmail) and many more.

Dual Boot. You can choose the Window Manager to boot: KDE 4.3.2 or Xfce 4.6.1.

Open Source development. Whether you choose the CLI or GUI, you can take use text editors, compilers (GCC, C + +, Fortran, Ada, GCJ, Objective-C), debuggers (gdb and strace), libraries, suite of tools for creating 3D animation (Blender), Open Source IDE - universal tool for development (Eclipse) and may more.

3D Desktop effects. After installing the video drivers from the manufacturer (nVidia, ATI, etc.), or you have a 3D supported video card, you can enjoy 3D effects offered by KDE 4.2. System updates. I you decide to install the LiveDVD in to your hard disk, then you can use slackpkg, or slapt-get to keep your system up to date.

Bluewhite Linux 13.0 LiveDVD Tips & Tricks.
1) Basically, the network setup is automated if you are using DHCP and the network card driver is loaded at startup. If this is not happen then you have to check if the driver is loaded (use lsmod) and if not the you have to load it manually (modprobe). Then, you can use WICD to set up your IPs.

2) There is no installer in this release!

3) Bluewhite Linux 13.0 LiveDVD can be installed and run from a pen drive: requires a minimum 4GB Pen Drive; download the ISO image and mount it using the loop option in a directory; format and partition the Pen Drive as FAT32 system; copy the contents of the ISO image on Pen Drive; access the "boot" directory where run 'bootinst.sh' to set the Pen Drive Bootable.

4) There is no password set for user "root" and "bluewhite64. If the system requires any password continue by pressing Enter.

5) CLI programs that require root privileges, they can be run using 'sudo program'. For graphical (GUI) that require root privileges, they can be run using 'kdesu program'.

6). On some systems, the sound is set to the default 0. Use Kmix (system tray) to unmute.
