Bluewhite64 Linux 12.1 KDE3 and KDE4 LiveDVD runs entirely from DVD and includes allmost all packages from the standard Bluewhite64 Linux 12.1 and the updated packages from the patches directory. Also, In addition to this version, I have included extra packages created by the Bluewhite64 Linux community. Thanks to all for such a great work! The Live DVD was created using Linux Live scripts 6.2.4 and uses the AuFS (another unionfs) and Squashfs LZMA.

diskmanager - Disk Manager --- wrote in top of libparted;
netmanager - Network Manager ---helps to set up your LAN or PPPoE IP's/settings;

Tips that you must read before using the Bluewhite64 Linux 12.1 KDE3 and KDE4 LiveDVD

!!! 1. There is a new GUI based installation for Bluewhite64 Linux 12.1 KDE3 and KDE4 LiveDVD. After the installation is done the system is rebooted automatically. Also, the LILO installation will update MBR only _with_ Bluewhite64 Linux. If you dual booting then you have to run 'liloconfig' to add other operating system to the lilo boot menu.

!!! 2. If you are installing the LiveDVD to the HDD using the BW64installer, there is only ext2/ext3 FS supported right now for the / . Next versions will support other file systems too.

3. Bluewhite64 12.1-R1 KDE3 and KDE4 LiveDVD can be installed to a USB pen Drive. A minimum required space is 2GB. First, make sure that the Pen Drive has a formated FAT partition; mount the iso in a loop and copy the content to the Pen Drive; go to the boot directory on the Pen Drive and run 'bootinst.sh', this will setup the Pen Drive to boot only Bluewhite64 Linux.

4. There is no password set for "root" and "bluewhite64" users, just hit enter whenever the system is asking for password.

5. To run CLI applications that need root privileges you have to use 'sudo program_name' and for KDE applications you have to use 'kdesu program_name'.

6. If you don't want to automatically mount your HDD partitions during boot then you have to use the 'noauto' boot option. This can be done at the boot menu by pressing the TAB and typing the parameter(s).

7. During the Bluewhite64 Linux 12.1 KDE3 and KDE4 LiveDVD boot you will be asked to auto configure or not the X.org server. If you choose "y" (yes) then a new xorg.conf will be created with your hardware. If you choose "n" (no) then the xorg.conf VESA (default) config file will be used to start the X server.

8. On some systems, the sound is muted by default. Check if Kmix is present near the clock and left click on it and select "Mixer" to adjust your sound settings.

9. ALICE managers can be found at the "Kmenu -> System" section.

10. If you install the Bluewhite64 Linux 12.1 KDE3 and KDE4 LiveDVD on to your HDD manually then you can disable the Xorg auto configuration by removing the executable attribute from the "/usr/bin/xorgconfig.sh" script (chmod -x /usr/bin/sorgconfig.sh).
